After a two-year hiatus, the Night Noodle Markets make a long-awaited return this winter from June 15 to 26. And instead of taking over South Bank’s Cultural Forecourt, this year the 12-night event will move into the leafy City Botanic Gardens.
Each evening, the riverside park will transform into a vibrant, open-air hawker-style market, with local and interstate food stalls filling the air with the smoke and spice of noodles, dumplings, bao and more.
Crowd favourites Hoy Pinoy, Flying Noodles, May’s Malaysian Hawker, Wonderbao, Gelato Messina and Twistto will return – peddling everything from Filipino skewers and gravity-defying noodles to mango pancakes and Instagram-worthy desserts – alongside a number of vendors still to be announced.
There’ll also be live entertainment, including lion dancers, plus several pop-up bars including a Gage Roads Beer Garden, an Aperol Spritz Kombi Bar and a non-alcoholic bar shaking zero-proof cocktails and serving no-booze beer by Heaps Normal. There’s also a pets-welcome policy.
To help reduce the time you spend in line, you’ll also be able to order food via QR code. The Night Noodle Markets has partnered with Mr Yum so you can opt to order and pay using your phone. You’ll get a text when your order is ready to pick up.
Brisbane Night Noodle Markets take place from June 16 to 26 at City Botanic Gardens, 147 Alice Street, Brisbane. Entry is free but online registration is required.
