A concentrated activation celebrating the city around it pops-up at the Australian Open.

The return of the Australian Open to the summer calendar means more than just tennis. Once again the event comes loaded with a constellation of sideshow attractions that celebrate the host city surrounding it.

And since no celebration of Melbourne would be complete without a discourse on its fine food and drink, the Australian Open is bringing the city’s storied multicultural cuisine to tennis guests in a one-stop “laneways” precinct.

Experience Grand Slam Oval like never before as you meander your way through pop-up laneways filled with live music, artistic murals big screen tennis viewing and AO’s first very own padel court, where you can enjoy a hit of alternative tennis.

Discover a bounty of “hole in the wall” food and drink offerings from some of your favourite Melbourne CBD chefs and restaurants. Paying homage to the iconic city laneways, fans can feast on fare such as burgers; fine Italian cuisine from Marameo, Pepe’s Italian & Liquor and Gradi; hawker-style street food from Longrain, Lucy Liu, Robata and Gingerboy; Asian delicacies from Oriental Tea House and David's; and the Mediterranean delights of Stalactites and Nico's.
