While decorations may have gone up around the city in late October, we’re now entering the holiday season for real. Instead of settling on a gift voucher for that person you can never buy for, how about a cheese advent calendar full of the fancy fromage?
The 12 Days of Cheese box first launched in 2018 – now the team runs a dedicated cheese restaurant and shop in Melbourne called 14 Days of Cheese.
Each box contains 12 cheeses from around Australia and the globe, covering a broad flavour and texture spectrum from hard to soft and blue to white to yellow. It includes gems such as an award-winning mini-Epoisses from France, “babybert” from the Barossa Valley, gorgonzola dolce (a sweeter version of the Italian blue), a fudgy caramelised whey cheese from Norway, and the crowd-pleasing Meredith Dairy goat’s feta. All levels of fromage fussiness are catered to.
And a cheese platter isn’t complete without accompaniments – the set includes a jar of baby figs in syrup, Bonne Maman honey, quince paste, dried fruit and muscatels. All in all, the box weighs 1.3 kilograms – more than enough to get through the holiday season.
A box will set you back $200 plus shipping, so maybe save this one for somebody special. Or yourself.
Available for cold-chain delivery around metropolitan Sydney.
